Hero (Ying xiong) is amazing!!!!

I just got back from the movie called Hero. It was an amazing movie and just like all movies I try to find Christ in it ands it is not hard to find it in this one! This movie is very similar to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. This is one movie that you go to it for the fight scenes because they are so well thought out and done, but then the story catches you and it becomes just as amazing, and all the while the Cinematography never lets you even blink. Thank you so much! I can't wait for this one in High Def! What an amazing movie, and it does not take a rocket scientist to see the Christianity in this one, but I guess for some you might have to look deeper than if it would be sooo plain.

Well, I highly recommend it. I also recommend that you get the DVD because I am sure that it will explain all the symbolism through out the entire movie, of which is so much I could not even try to explain it, but I will give you this quote from IMDB.com when it came to the costumes:

"In the flashbacks, the characters' costumes go from red (imagination) to blue (perceived reality) to white (truth). In the final flashback, the costumes are green (enlightenment/peace)."

Now that is some fun with film! They did not even have to pull a Matrix and digitally change the tint of the film...they just did it with good old fashion cloth, and die, heh.

Oh and yeah the fight scenes are truly amazing, especially the water scene, leaf scene, and arrows (both of them) scene/s. Really really cool!

Oh and if you go just like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon this one is only English in the subtitles, so only go to this expecting an Artsy Fartsy film, because it is well better stated foreign film. ha ha.

Jay Update:

Well, I did not talk to Jay that much today, because when I called he was showering and I talk to my parents, but they said he is doing great and they were too. So good news all around. I am feeling better today too, but I am still coughing a little bit, but no biggie.

I did pre-order the new Halo 2 XB-Live headset today, and man it looks hecka cool!

Well, yall have a great day today/night and know I love you...and even more importantly God loves ya! Take care and May God bless!...you that is, heh.

Good morning!!

Well, I don't have too much time because I have to get to my accountability group, but I wanted to tell yall that Jay is doing very good...can't sleep sometimes, but doing good.

I also wanted to tell yall that I have very fond memories of some home made pickles that my family received one time when I was a kid and I think I will try to reproach them. All I remember was they were in a huge jar and there was all kinds of herbs and stuff floating around in the jar. I can't remember if we received them from Nan or one of my name's friends or if it was someone else that my Dad knew, but I am asking any of you to start your SEC's now for the best DILL Pickle recipe that you can find and let me know the receive. I have no idea why I am craving Pickles (isn't this something that pregnant women do? Maybe my body is thinking that it is my job to do all the baby work, instead of Tiffany, ha ha). What ever the problem, I really would love to have a great dill pickle recipe! Well yall have a great day and God bless you all! I will leave you with my dreams...ha ha ha

Oh, and sorry about no posts yesterday and maybe the day before, I have been crazy busy trying to get ready for the church events that we have been having. The first one was on Saturday where the church came up with a new vision statement (actually it is not necessarily new, but it is up-to-date, ha ha (this way the people who are still around who came up with the old one can't get mad, heh) That took all of Saturday morning and then I help decorate the church for Rally Aloha Day which is our church's kick-off day to say, "OK summer is over you can stop skipping church now lets start coming back and enjoying ourselves by worshiping God in fellowship, etc...) It was a blast on Sunday and every one was wearing "lays" (sp?) and fun shirts. I even got to wear a fun shirt (untucked) and sandals!!!1 Woo Hoo It was lots of fun, and I truly believe that I am called to serve a church some day that does not care about a dress code (even if it is just an understood one) and everyone can be comfortable in their worship to God. But I better not get on my soap box now. Yall have a great week and know I love ya! Take care and God bless, and even though Jay is feeling good....Please KUTP!

Leadership Vision Retreat today...

Please pray for our church's Leadership Visioning retreat this morning. We are hoping that the church can be able to really be unified in the mission and vision God has for his Church St. John's United Methodist Church and that the people who attend will be the leaders in producing the unity and passion that our church really needs.

Thank you for your prayers and God bless you and your church too!

More later, but this is just a crazy weekend for me. Thanks!

Oh and for those of you who care...I just ordered this monitor! I can't wait to get it in. God bless you all and take care this day....oh and give that family member a hug....they probably need it! :)

Cough, Cough....

Well, my sickness has moved from my head to my chest, so I feel a little better, but I cough all the time.....good news is that it is a productive cough, heh.

Jay Update:

Well we were hoping today for Jay to have his Bone Marrow scan to check and see if he still has cancer or not. Well, they all showed up to the Dr.'s office today and @ the Dr.s office they did a blood test to see if his white blood cell count was high enough. Well, the good news is his WBC count was very high, BUT.......the Dr.'s thinks that his high WBC count is due to one of the drugs that they gave him, so the dr. has told Jay to come back next Friday and they will do the tests that they were planning on doing today. Jay seems to think that the Dr.s believes that he is in remission, but we will never know until the results come back from the test that they will do next Friday. (and then it will probably take another 4-5 days to get the results) So...basically we think this is al a good thing, but we will not know positively until the test next Friday and then how long it will take to get the results back.

As my Dad said this morning...."I think you are the sick one in the family right now" heh. Man, I sure hope so!!!!

Thank you all for your love and care and please KUTP!

Me sick...very sick....

Well, I will not post a long blog post, because I am very sick! I am also very tired....so I guess that makes me sick and tired...nothing more just sick and tired. heh

Well, I just wanted to give you all an update on Jay:

Jay Update:

Jay was not feeling good today and had a small temperature (100 something) so it was not as bad as last time, but still not great. They were expecting this one so it is not as much of a shock as it was last time. He is still on course to go see the Dr.'s and to check to see if he has cancer still or not....so please pray hard for the results to be "no cancer". I am not sure how long it will take to get the results back from the tests tomorrow, but how ever long it takes please KUTP!!!!

Love yall take care, and I am going to see if I can get some rest now. bye bye!

BTW: I must say my wife is the greatest person on the planet! She cooked for me today and even help clean off my desk @ work while we had our prayer service tonight! Tiffany is the bestest of the bestest, heh Love you girl!!! (if you ever read this, heh)

Oh and....

BE COOL!

I am feeling a little under the weather....

Ever wonder how we get the phrases we say all the time? What exactly does feeling "under the weather" mean? Maybe that you are just out in the rain? hmmm.

Well, I did not do too much yesterday other than sleep a bunch, and I should probably do the same today, but I might try to go to work for a little bit.

I did go eat Sushi last night with Tiffany and the boys of her youth group for their (guys night out) In our churches there is something called Safe Sanctuaries. And this new model of protecting children and the workers of youth and children requires that there be at least 2 adults with youth or children at all times especially if you go somewhere off campus. Tiffany was not sure if any of the other adults would be able to make it, so I crawled into my car and drove to White Rock. (It was not all bad, I mean I got to eat Sushi, heh, but even I think that eating Sushi might not be the best thing for you when your sick, heh.

I woke up this morning with less muscle soreness, but I still have that "my head is going to explode" feeling.

Well, last night I was surfing around and out found out 2 interesting facts @ Slashdot.

The first said that George Lucas maybe thinking about making the last 3 movies of his Star Wars movies. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about.... The first three movies (back in the 70's and 80's) were the middle three movies of a 9 movie series. He has gone back now and filmed the first three movies (the prequals (sp?)) and now people think he may be thinking of making the last three to pick up after Return of The Jedi, because the workers @ Lucasfilm have all been made to sign an agreement that they will not talk to anyone about the movies 7, 8, and 9. Hoooooo, man that would be really cool! To read more go here.

Also I found out @ Slashdot that Microsoft made a huge translation mistake in a piece of it's software when it asked what gender the user was, heh. Apparently it had made an entire country of women very upset. Oh man, that has to hurt! If you want to read the article then just go here. (Actually this is a lot of mistakes that MS has done over seas!) Let this be a lesson to you (anyone) who wishes to do business over seas.) heh.

Well, I am going to go have my quite time now, and pray for healing....(For Jay of course) heh.

Oh yeah....

Jay Update:

Jay sounded the best I have heard him sound since he started all this stuff yesterday! His mouth is doing great and he is feeling a lot better! We are all hoping that this is a good sign! Please remember that he goes in on Thursday to find out if he still has cancer OR NOT! heh. Of course it is all of our prayers that he is cancer free and that we can celebrate about the healing, and of course if not, then we can still celebrate that God is continuing his good work in him and we will just bare down even harder on the cancer with the chemo and go on from there. All that said to say, please pray hard for these results to be cancer free!!!!

I (and Jay of course) really appreciate your prayers! It is obvious that our prayers were answered with him not getting mouth sores, so lets increase them another notch and see what happens!

Thank you all and God bless all of you! Take care and have a wonderful day!

Oh here is a photo (actually several satellite photos) that shows what the earth looks like at night:

For a BIG high rez image you can go here. I just thought it was beautiful and really amazing! I used to have a poster of this kind of image taped to my bedroom wall growing up! heh good times! I never knew how much Japan looked like a Dragon from space @ night, heh.

We're baaacckkkk.....

Well, a wonderful day and a half in Taos and Angel Fire was experienced by Tiffany, Halo, and me. We had a great time and it looks as if our house did not burn down while we were gone, heh.

Well, I spent a few mins checking out all the tech news I missed on Friday and today, and man I love this thing:

The River Table

I wonder how hard it would be to make that thing? I think that would rock as a computer table. Can you imagine working on your sermon on your computer that is cooled by water (all you non-geeks out there....some computer run so hot due to so much power some people cool their computers with water running through tubes inside their cases.) with the cool blue neon lights shining from the inside of your case, the cool blue LED lights shining from your keyboard, and now a small stream flowing inside your desk! WoW, talk about Feng Shui (<-- Please don't get into all that junk, it rreally is a form of Spirituality that does not agree with Christianity so just realize that) All you would need after that would be a trout stream or lake in your living room and you would have the ultimate "peace" house, heh. Jay Update: Jay is going to the Dr on Thursday for them to test and see if he still has cancer or not!!!!!!! Very big day so please put lots of prayer into that one and leading up to that one!! (i.e. KUTP) Well, I am very tired with lots of stuff going on @ church tomorrow, I know I will be tired, and besides Tiffany and I saved some more money for tomorrow evening to go eat some sushi! Oh yeah!!!! You people really don't know what your missing (except you Thor) unless you have tried it (from a GOOD place)

Love yall take care and God bless ya all!

P.S. the Easter Egg is a fav past time of mine, heh. buh bye!

I wish....

Have you ever felt over whelmed with what was going on in your life (I really am not right now, but just saying it) that you wish you could somehow have about three Weeks set aside. Week one would be a homecoming of your high school, but just of your best friends, week two would be the same but this time it was your college friends, and then week 3 would be (in my case Seminary) the friends you had developed after you were married/got a real job. Man, there are so many people in my life that I wish I could introduce to others. Man, I just know that they would automatically have something in common right off the bat.....me, heh)

Besides that would be the greatest three weeks Even, and yet, that will be Eternity some day won't it! I know all my friends except only a handful are Christian, and if I believe all this Christianity stuff, then man, I can not wait for Christ to return (but I would love to have at least one baby before that time...maybe come back before the teen years, ha ha)

Really but I must tell you all I did a funeral yesterday, and to tell you the truth I think I like funerals better than weddings. With funerals you don't have to put up with the mother-in-law, heh (just kidding Toni, I love you) No one is telling you what to do, and there is something very special about honoring a life lived well. One you get to look back the other you look forward. This is nothing wrong with weddings at all I love them too, but funerals are just a little more meaningful to me.

Well, every time I do a funeral I use the Methodist book of Worship, and man I love the words of that ceremony! But I also get to have a small homily. Yesterday was for Betty Goodrich. She was a child of the depression and had to take care of her dying father at age 5 while her mother and old sister worked low paying jobs. She became a designer and just after she developed Alzheimer's they placed her in a Elderly care center they looked in her closet and they had created over 500 garments for her to wear! Hoo Dang! That is a bunch of sewing! Well, doing funeral always gets me excited about heaven. There is always so much discussion about how the second coming of Christ will occur, and probably not near enough dreaming of what it will be like! I can't wait to have a dinner in the presence of my enemies, because I know who will also be seated at the dinner table!!!!!! And I know that if I will get to eat with my enemies (by the way I hope it is a small company) then I know I will get to eat with my friends also!

Well, lets just say, I love yall and everything I type it I mean it! I can't wait some day to be bale to have my three weeks last an eternity, and who knows maybe me and Paul, or Peter, or Timothy, or Moses, or even John, or heck Joe Schmo from BFE will become best friends, ha ha ha ha.

Yall have a great day and God bless every single one of ya! And Keep Spreading the Good News (KSTGN) as well as KUTP for Jay and the Kingdom to come (to it's full restoration)

Talk to yall in a few days, cya!

What do you do during your week?

Well, all I know is I wish that my week was as cool to include battle Axe lessons!!! Oh man that would rock! Well, I am leaving tomorrow to go.....hmmm......to a place with my wife for our anniversary....and we will get busy........doing......stuff. Ha Ha Ha. Actually I can't wait to be in a peaceful place and maybe get a movie in @ Taos. Not the best theater, but not a bad one either, heh.

Well, love yall take care.....oh and....

Jay Update:

Well, Jay is doing good. My parents made it up there and will be there for a month (punks, I wish I could be with my brother and his wife for a month!!!) I know he is doing good, because before he went home yesterday they ate @ Denny's and then when I called this morning our Mother was bringing breakfast burritos to feed them all. So, life is good for him right now, heh. Actually they gave him blood before he left and he said that is always something that will make him feel good. (The blood thing is normal he just needs some every now and then since his body is not producing it due to the Chemo.) Please KUTP because this is the time last time that he got sick and had the mouth ulcers, so I know he would greatly appreciate them!

OK well, find the Easter Egg so you can actually understand my battle axe lessons comment, heh. (Yes, I am weird, but there are a few others that even beat me, heh!)

Yall have a great rest of the week and God bless ya!

P.S. Does anyone still read this? I know Mark does....thanks for the comment man!) But I just know the comments have been down. Sometimes it just gets a little lonely around here and it is nice to know others are still reading, heh. Thanks!

Here is an email that I thought I would pass along...

I normally hate spam (not the food, but the emails) with a passion that is only tempered by my "dislike" (my Momma taught me never to use the word "hate" when talking about people) of those who actually write them for the purpose of being sent as spam, heh (harsh? yes, but you and I both know I love them (the people that is) anyway, heh.

But her is one I consider worthy of being placed on my blog....(please don't sent me more spam thinking that your is worthy of this too, heh) but I thought this one was great and therefore I will post it here:

In today's world, Bud Abbott and Lou Costello's
famous sketch "Who's on first?" might have turned out
something like this....

COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT . . .

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?
COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den
and I'm thinking about buying a computer.
ABBOTT: Mac?
COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou.
ABBOTT: Your computer?
COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one.
ABBOTT: Mac?
COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou.
ABBOTT: What about Windows?
COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here?
ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows?
COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look
in the windows?
ABBOTT: Wallpaper.
COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer
and software.
ABBOTT: Software for Windows?
COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I
can use to write proposals, track expenses and
run my business. What have you got?
ABBOTT: Office.
COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend
anything?
ABBOTT: I just did.
COSTELLO: You just did what?
ABBOTT: Recommend something.
COSTELLO: You recommended something?
ABBOTT: Yes.
COSTELLO: For my office?
ABBOTT: Yes.
COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office?
ABBOTT: Office.
COSTELLO: Yes, for my office!
ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows.
COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows OK,
lets just say I'm sitting at my computer
and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?
ABBOTT: Word.
COSTELLO: What word?
ABBOTT: Word in Office.
COSTELLO: The only word in office is office.
ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.
COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows?
ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue
"W".
COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you
don't start with some straight answers. OK,
forget that. Can I watch movies on the
Internet?
ABBOTT: Yes, you want Real One.
COSTELLO: Maybe a real one, maybe a cartoon. What I
watch is none of your business. Just tell
me what I need!
ABBOTT: Real One.
COSTELLO: If it's a long movie I also want to see
reel 2, 3 & 4. Can I watch them?
ABBOTT: Of course.
COSTELLO: Great! With what?
ABBOTT: Real One.
COSTELLO: OK, I'm at my computer and I want to watch
a movie. What do I do?
ABBOTT: You click the blue "1".
COSTELLO: I click the blue one what?
ABBOTT: The blue "1".
COSTELLO: Is that different from the blue w?
ABBOTT: The blue "1" is Real One and the blue "W"
is Word.
COSTELLO: What word?
ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows.
COSTELLO: But there's three words in "office for
windows"!
ABBOTT: No, just one. But it's the most popular
Word in the world.
COSTELLO: It is?
ABBOTT: Yes, but to be fair, there aren't many
other Words left. It pretty much wiped out all
the other Words out there.
COSTELLO: And that word is real one?
ABBOTT: Real One has nothing to do with Word. Real
One isn't even part of Office.
COSTELLO: STOP! Don't start that again. What about
financial bookkeeping? You have anything I
can track my money with?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: I need money to track my money?
ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer
COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer?
ABBOTT: Money.
COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer?
ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge.
COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer?
How much?
ABBOTT: One copy.
COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money?
ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy money.
COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money?
ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT!

A FEW DAYS LATER

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?
COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off?
ABBOTT: Click on "START"..........

Well I hope you read it and liked it have a great day and God bless you all!

Jay update:

Talked to him this morning and he will be heading home today. So now is the time the mouth problems occur, so please just say a small prayer for him right now as you read this. Love yall take care and God bless ya!

Oh,

I will be leaving Thursday evening to go be my wife on our 6th wedding anniversary, so sorry about no posts from Thursday through Sunday. Hope to be back and running on Monday though. Peace!

Easter Egg:
Oh and I am not promoting anything government wise with the up coming election, but this web site (i.e. Easter Egg) is the one that has been getting all the news coverage. And it is stinking funny! buh bye!

Hmmmmmmm.....

Well, have you ever wanted to blog, but not sure what to blog about? I love blogin, and I know I have been a little lax on it lately. I apologize. You would think that while Tiffany was gone I would do more blogging, but in reality, I did yard work, heh.

I think I am loosing it some times. I mean I go from one hobby to the next all the time. I will spend about one month on one thing (home theater) and then just go to another one (gardening) and then go to another (Wood Carving) one and then go to another one (Computers). It is like a longer term ADD problem, heh. (though several people think I have ADD anyway, heh) Let me give you an example:

When Tiffany and I moved here, our front yard was junk. The older man who (well rented the house before us) kept the front yard was much too old to be outside (or he could have just not cared, heh) but the front and back yards were horrible!!! (The back still is, but I might try to grow a veggi garden out back, heh) But anyway, I decided I would surprise Tiffany and go buy her four rose bushes. So, I put all the rocks in the front in the shape of a cross (the neighbors really need a little subtle Jesus around here) and then planted a rose bush in each corner. Now, that was not too much fun considering the ground here is freaking clay!!! Well, a long story short, I go into building a fountain in the front, and now the front yard has 4 rose bushes, 6 hummingbird type plants, 6 hummingbird mint plants, rosemary, oregano, parsley, onion, one tree, 2 Russian Sage, one large bush, and 5 other plants that I have no idea what the heck they are but they are cool!. So, I did that for a while and I am barley keeping enough water on them to stay alive. (welcome to a high desert!) Then I decided that I wanted to get into hummingbirds, so I did all the research on them and got the best feeder, etc... and now I have tons of hummingbirds.

I then decided that I wanted to learn how to do woodcarving. You know the plants die in the winter and hummingbirds don't come around, so you need to find some other kind of hobby, and guess what?...Woodcarver was it for me. Once again, I decided to ask Tiffany what she would want me to carve her (actually I think I came up with this one on my own...but it is always better to blame the spouse, heh) And since we have a king size bed, but nothing for a head bord or foot bord. I also knew Tiffany always wanted a bed with four posts @ each corner, so after finding Andy in out church (a master wood carver) he taught me how to carve wood. Well, I have 4 posts in my garage and I have not even finished one pole yet, heh. (I guess the summer happened again and then I went back to flowers and hummingbirds, heh.) But, now I have a hobbie for the summer and the winter (but I might want to buy a space heater for the garage, heh (or maybe I could just start the car and then pull it in the garage and let the engine heat it up, heh.) Well, now I am feeling the bug of needing a new computer this Christmas. (and I am sure it will only get worse after Halo2 comes out) Tiffany calls this my "problem". Here is the tmeline of DG and his desiring (i.e. see Tiffany's understanding of the "DG Problem") after something (i.e. materialism in a lot of cases)......

Day 1 "OOOHHHHH, wow Tiffany look at that!"
Day 30 "You know you could put that one down on my Christmas list if you want."
Day 60 "Man, I sure would like that!"
Day 120 "I really like that!"
Day 150 "Oh man, I need that"
Day 151 "No, seriously, I really need that"
Day 180 "Girl do you think I could use my Birthday money to buy that?"
Day 181 "Hey Girl, do you think I could use my birthday and Christmas money to buy that"
Day 210 "Tiffany.......I love you"
Day 240 "Tiffany remember when I told you that I love you?...Well, I bought that thing I was telling you about....is that OK?"
Day 265 "OK I will return it...I know we need to pay the gas bill instead of owning this"
Day 300 "Happy Birthday Tiffany here is your gift....see it is that thing I was wanting, but look it is really a purchase for both of us (smile)"
Day 330 "Man, I love eating Ramen noodles for every meal, hmmmmm hmmmm good"

Well, that is the progression. Sometimes it is a little bit faster (ok, most of the time it is a lot faster, but you get the idea, heh)

Thank you Tiffany for putting up with me, I love yo more than life Girl....and don't you ever forget it!

Jay update:

Talked to Jay this afternoon and he was doing good. He was about normal, and been through this so many times he knows what to expect. Please keep praying that his mouth is not as bad as it has been in the past (due to the side effects of the chemo). If everything goes good then the Dr.'s might let him out tomorrow, if not then he WILL get to go home on Tuesday! That is really good news, but that is when his mouth starts drying up too, so this is an important time. I love him sooo much, and I can not tell any of you how much I apprecite your prayers! Man oh man, I love every single one of you! Thank you and please with all our hearts KUTP!

Well, I think I will leave you all with some quotes from my favorite book that I am reading right now.....

The book is An Unstoppable Force Daring to become the church God had in mind by Erwin Raphael McManus:

"The purpose of the church cannot be to survive or ever to thrive but to serve. And sometimes servants die in the serving." pg23

We've spent millions of dollars preserving our music and hymnals rather than creating worship that expresses the culture in which we live." pg25

"america's best athiests are children of the church."pg28

(talking about some of the greatest enemies of the church) "The problem has not been that these individuals of significant influence were outside the sphere of the church's influence, but that, in fact, they sat in the center of the church and remained unchanged at the core." pg28

"People are rejecting Christ because of the church! Once we were called Christians by an unbelieving world, and now we call ourselves Christians and the world calls us hypocrites." pg29

"The cultural environment became comfortable, and the gospel shifted from a church "on mission" to a church that supported missions" pg30

"Are we too much about us getting fed and too little about us exercising our faith?" pg31

"If those who prepare for leadership are looking for the safe place, who will lead the church into the dangerous places?" pg32

"Only dead men can follow the God of the cross" pg33

(Talking about the church) "You can change the name, but if you don't change the heart, the atrophy will kill you in the end." pg35

(and all those are in the introduction to the first chapter!!!!) Oh man, I love this guy!!!! Do yourself and your church a favor and buy this book then live it and share it with others in your church! It can do nothing but help your churches live for Christ the way they are meant to! Love yall have a great night, and please pray for God's church especially the one you attend!!!!

Gardening......

One of my Seminary Professors would tell our class how much he loved gardening. And actually he meant farming (because he has such a huge garden, heh) He would tell how amazing it was to work with his hands and to figure out the challenge of keeping something alive and producing good fruit. I never really understood what he talked about because I never worked in the garden. (I never had a garden to work in for that matter, heh) But, now that I have a "garden" I am fining it a challenge, but very rewarding. And I think there is something about working in the ground and soil. (Except Santa Fe has clay for dirt, and it is basically concrete do actually dig in!) There is something like I am getting back to my roots (ha ha pun intended) You know all those years working on a farm in West Texas growing up was different. Back them I just wanted money and would do that hard work to get it, and beside I was not too often down in the dirt, but up on a tractor) But this time, it is because I actually are about the plants and the ground and the look of something that is mine. The lady that lives beside me even talks to her plants and says that it helps them grow better, heh. I don't know if I would go that far, but I talk to my dog and cat as if they were human, heh.

You know I see all the things around me that I care for. I can not even imagine how much Tiffany and I will care for our children some day, but isn't it amazing all the ways that we emulate God in the things we do. God cares for us so much that not a day is spent without day dreaming who we could become for Him and with Him. He loves us so much that he even has plans for us! But, there is just something about trying to allow something to grow from the very ground of the earth.

You know I know of someone who grew something out of the soil of the earth. And the garden was never finish and made perfect until this part of it was created from the very soil. Have you ever noticed that is was only after God created human beings that he stopped saying that is was good and started calling all of his created garden very good!

When was the last time you look at yourself and saw that you are very good in God's eyes? You see he is still growing us up in his garden. It may look very differently now, and it may seem like you are just barely clothed and hiding from God from the bad things you have done to Him and others, but in reality, Jesus Christ came to fix that relationship. So that all of us can experience true relationship with God, to walk and talk face to face with Him! Please know as we are all continuing to grow in His Garden that it was you and only you that made the entire creation very good!

"A lot of cases of depression in Christians, just need a good dose of creation story to help them see how special and wonderful they are in the eyes of God." Bill Arnold Basic OT Class Jan '99

Well, I will throw something else in here.... I just read an article about a new material that they are calling rubber metal. It apparently has all the abilities of rubber, but can still can conduct electricity like a solid piece of metal. Very cool if you ask me, I wonder what all the possibilities with this invention are!

Jay Update:

Well, just as soon as I was about to call my brother for today's update I see that he jumps online with his laptop from his hospital room and signs on to MSN Chat! I thought Jay could give you his own update! Here is a copy of our conversation:

D.G.: Hey!!!
Jay: Hey
D.G.: I am just about to blog an update for you!
D.G.: how are you?
Jay: Hey hey'
Jay: I am good
D.G.: good
Jay: I am keeping my fingers crossed for this to go well
D.G.: Well, we are too, but more like hands folded over, ha ha
Jay: My numbers are ok but not great
D.G.: numbers=white blood cell counts?
Jay: I hope that the mucocitise is low this time it should start 22nd
D.G.: yeah me too
Jay: Wbc and rbc
Jay: Wbc= fever and mucocitise
Jay: Rbc=tiredness energy
D.G.: yeah
D.G.: I love you more than you or I will ever know! And you are always in my prayers! I wish I could be there with you, but I know you are in good hands! (Sheila's and God's heh)

Please pray for the cancer to be gone, because this is the last treatment of intensive Chemo and then only a stemcell transplant after this one. With his counts being Ok, but not great he is a little worried about it all. plus he hates the mouth sores from the chemo side effects. So maybe that can up us focus our prayers. Thank you again and KUTP!!!!

Well for those of you who missed it you missed a really good opening ceremony @ this years Summer Games! Lots of Greek Mythology and history of Greece! It was done very well, and not too futuristic which was really good in my eyes. I really wish that I could watch certain events, but we are stuck with the most popular to see. I wish DirecTV or DISH would treat them like they do all the football games or baseball games and that you could purchase the events that you would like to see. I would love to watch (if I could choose) Hammer throw, Shot-put, Discus, diving, 400 relay, polevault, high jump, long jump, Taekwondo, Judo, Archery, Weightlifting, and of course TABLE TENNIS!!!! heh Well, yall have fun watching the games and hopeful it will all at the very least give you a break from reality for a few seconds. To know more about the events and when they should be on you can go to nbcolympics.com

Oh, and I just found that my Seminary has their own blog no so you can check it out if you so desire.....ATS Blog.

Love ya all as always, and God bless ya!

Seems forever, and my Restaurant....

It seems like forever to actually get caught up with all my work when I come back from being gone for so long, but I am slowly get back into the grove of things, heh.

I am trying to get settled back in so I can then be able to go back over all my classes from the congragational development school and then pray over them to see what and how I am to use them.

Well, I am not sure if I have told you this yet or not, but many of you know I love to cook. (I like to eat as well, something I need to work on) Well, I have come up with a great name of a restaurant! Now, the eating establishment will serve a little bit of everything kind of like a more upscale Chili's, but it's name would be, "I Don't Care, Whatever, You Decide" Now at first your thinking, "DG your crazy that name is way too long...leave it to DG to come up with a brilliant idea and have it bee too long..dumb dumb head!" But think about it.....What always happens when you go to eat with someone? Someone asks the question, "So, where do you want to go eat?" and the answer 90% of the time is, "I don't care", or, "Whatever", or even, "You Decide"! Now everyone of those people know where you want to go and can take you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, I know it is quirky, but still a lot of fun, heh!!!!

OK, now if any of you cooks out there want to use my idea then I better get a cut of the company profits, and if not at least some free food out of the deal, heh.

Well, it is 2:00 am in the morning and I have the District picnic at Hyde Park tomorrow afternoon so I better get some rest.

Sorry my posts have been all over the place. I flew in from Dayton (BTW never fly the plane from Dayton to Dallas, man that landing was a rough one, three people Called out to the LORD during the Lading! And there was an immediate praise and worship service after the front tires landed on the ground, ha ha ha)where was I?...oh yeah, I flew in from Dayton to have my mother pick me up at the ABQ airport to drive straight to my church for a very important meeting and my mother and father just left today to go back to my home town of Floydada. So I hope to be better about it from now on.

I will try to put up some of my favorite quotes from my favorite book (right now at least, heh) that I am reading right now and maybe I can generate some discussion around it! In the mean time, Love ya!

Jay Update:

Well, I talked to Jay this morning and he was driving to the Hospital to see the Dr. and if the Dr. thinks that he can handle the chemo then he will be admitted for the last round of intensive chemo. Jay sounded very good, and he believed that the Dr. would admit him and start it all over again for the last time. PLEASE be in prayer for Jay, he is getting VERY tired of all of this and is not looking forward to all this all over again for the third time. So, please this time is just as important for pray and when he first went in. Thank you, Love you, and God bless ya! KUTP!!!!!!

GOING HOME TOMORROW!!! woo....

hoo.......

Oh man, I am ready to go back home, heh. Almost everyone I talked to today said that they loved the congregational development school, but boy is sure is lasting long, heh. Well we were all getting tired today....and then.....we worshiped tonight.

I tell you what that was wonderful worship! You know it was good worship when the young African American man in front of me was singing in tongues and I was not bothered in worship, LOL LOL. It is very good, and it was not my favorite style of music (GREAT African American worship style of music) but dang it was awesome. I can't sleep (I haven't been able to sleep any night I have been here but all the other nights is because I miss Tiffany, but this time is because I am still calming down from worship, heh)

Well, I must go to bed now, and get some rest to have one more meeting tomorrow and one more class and then get in the car to fly back home! So, yall have a great day! In the mean time let me send you to the websites of churches that are doing it right and well! They will all be Easter Eggs, so play around on them and check out what they have to offer you in ministry! Lots of these have online ministries and sever have daily Devos or even DL the sermons, very cool if you ask me, heh. (Oh an never forget The Blessing Forum.<---this is one of the links on the right side over there (you might have to scroll down to view it)(well the main site seems to be down, I wonder if something is going on with Paul's computer? hmmmm.)--->

Oh yeah and check out this photo of the last Lord of The Rings DVD set! Oh yeah!!!!

Man I am tired.....

Wow I had no idea how tired this school I am at is making me. It really started with me waking up @ 3:15 am to catch my plane flight, then loosing 2 hours per day by operating in the Eastern Time zone. I am (in New Mexico time) am going to sleep @ 10:30 or 11:00 pm, but waking up at 4:15 am each morning. I am learning quite a bit, but I am still suprised about how great an education I received @ Asbury. I am telling yall that almost every class I attended was just a refresher course of about three classes I had of one class in Seminary. Thank you Asbury, even if by going to you I have a stamp on my head from all the "other" pastors, heh. I could careless because I will just prove to them that I am beyond my Seminary, I am a Christian first and foremost....even over me being a Texan, ha ha.

Well, during one session I wrote something down and I just wanted to share it with you today,

"I am sitting here in the middle of this church development school. This is the weirdest thing I have ever felt. (Have you ever felt something so strongly that you are 2° from exploding?) Most people have this feeling when it comes to love, religion, and justice.

I am having it with my passions, excitement, and absolute love of living out my calling in this world God has placed me & Tiffany. I am staying away from anyone who smokes, in the fear that I might explode! It is absolutely KILLING me! I know that the future of my life & family is going to be amazing for Jesus Christ & Everyone in this world! (I am not bragging...just having expectations of Jesus doing amazing things through me and Tiffany...just like all of us should have)

But, I am torn as to when & where & how it will happen. I spend so much time in prayer for God's guidance! GOD PLEASE SHARE WITH ME (in your time<--have to put that in, heh heh)It is amazing how I am learning patience! I am seeing all these amazing things going on in all these churches! The one I am in right now has a satalite church in an YMCA. The satalite church meets in the YMCA on Sundays. It is beneficial for both parts. the parent church that birthed the YMCA church beleives that if a church is booming and another church around them is not, then the large church is at fault to not help the other church. It is amazing....the Pastor (and he is a DS...those of you who are Methodist will be amazed by that) looks around him and if he or the church notices that one of the churches around them is hurting then his church will support them by sending praise band members until they can some some of thier own. they will give stuff to other churches for free that they are not using, they will consider buying a projector for them if that is what they need to get back on thier feet. (It is the way I beleive the UNITED Methodist church should look) Well, it is just frustrating that I am about to explode becuase I don't know when I will be able to put my passion and creativity into a church that will be fully supported by the conference and the church. Well I will just continue to grow in Christ and maybe learn more about patience than I would ever want to learn, ha ha ha.

Jay Update:

Jay is doing great. I talked to him yesterday and he said that his mouth is healing and he actually ate some chicken nuggets instead of only fruit!!! He will be seeing the Dr. this Thursday and if the Dr. thinks his body is ready, then he will start his last chemo 21 day treatment and then he will only have to worry about the Stem Cell Treatment!!! He is getting tired as anyone could expect, but he is one of the strongest fighters I have ever seen.....Hey Jay this is the reason you never played Football in High School.....God knew you would need all your energy for now, heh heh heh. Love you!

Tank you all and please KUTP! Love yall! Have a wonderful day!

Sorry no links or interactive posts lately...just no time and very tired, heh Thanks for the understanding. Buh bye!

I am loving life...but really miss Tiffany!!!!!

Well, this place is almost torture. Being around people who actually listen and accept your creativity in ministry and encourage it, is wonderful! But, frustrating that sometimes I can allow a place for that outlet currently, but I know I will someday and love every second of it!

I am having fun, but man it is not good at all being away from Tiffany. Craig and Bryan are nice roommates, but nothing compared to Tiffany, ha ha. I love and miss you girl!!!!

Well great news today from Sheila!!!!:

Jay was released today but will be back in West Penn on Thursday for chemo. They could not find the source of the infection but stated that he had neutopenic fever. We still have to give him IV antibiotics at home for a few more days.

Oh yeah, we got past this one with lots of prayer and squeaked by, so thank you all sooo much, and please KUTPs and know I love you all sooo much!

Well, I am off to watch a movie tonight and yall have a wonderful night! Tiffany I will make up for missing Date night....I promise!

I made it....

I am here in Dayton, OH. the flights were just fine, but as usual I gave away all my business cards in the airport (all 12 of them) so I am not able to give any to the pastors here at the church school conference, heh heh. Oh well, I bet the people in the airplanes needed them more, ha ha.

Jay Update:

I talked to Jay today and it sure was a good talk. Oh man, it was horrible not getting to talk to him due to all the sores in his mouth. So, his mouth is doing much better and Jay could talk to me. It is sad that Sheila has to be in Washington DC the next day and not be with him, but as he said, "He does not need a baby sitter"....my response? "I don't care what you say, I wish I was there to baby sit you" ha ha.

Well, He said that his pain is much better. They had him on a Morphine (sp?) drip and he was taken off of that today and given oxicotten & Oxicodon (sp? no clue). He said that yesterday his temperature was much better and actually got down to normal, but it seems to have stabilized to a low grade fever for now. He said that his Chemo schedule is still the same, but they want to make sure his fever is gone before they start it again. Jay said his white blood cell count is much better and that he felt much better and that his bone marrow is producing those white blood cells, we just hope that the cancer is gone and the marrow is producing good non-cancer cells. Today he felt the strongest he has felt in months and took a shower on his on power. he said some of the pain medicine is making him fell light headed, but that could also be cause by not eating as much food, due to the sores in his mouth. They still really hurt, but are getting better. He says his face is much better now too, and he can almost have a full smile and says that he feels like he will get all the movement back in his mouth over time.

Needless to say this phone call is wonderful!!!!! It looks like he will be just fine and get past this fever and back on the right schedule soon. Thank you for the support and KUTP!!!!! Love yall!

Well, I heard an amazing preacher today, and I hope that I can write about it soon, but in the mean time read Exodus 4 and really look for who's staff that really is. Take care and God Bless yall!

the Easter Egg is a little piece of the future, heh.

I knowof a Sermon that uses different Jesus Pictures, and I just thought I would share one every now and then. This is the Bob Marley Jesus, heh

God bless yall take care!

I am leaving this morning....

OK, I will be gone today through Tuesday to the School of Congregational development.
The school will be @ Ginghamsburg UMC in Tipp City, OH. I think that the La Quinta has High Speed Internet, so I will try to update you all, but not sure how often it will be.

I could not get a hold of Jay yesterday due to his hospital room phone being busy all the time, so no Jay update, but please please please, KUTP! Thank you all and God bless you!

a little preoccupied.......

Well all the Jay stuff has made me a little off my game and so the blog has taken a back seat, but maybe this one can change that, heh.

Well, Friday Tiffany, Halo, and I all went to go see my Mom and Dad @ Sierra Bonita (a place where I have been going 2-4 times every summer since I was about 3 yrs old. It is a great place to park the motor home and then just enjoy the hummingbirds and get lots of fishing in. On the way there Halo (our dog) decided to tell us that he gets car sick very easily and puked all over the back seat of our car. He was being nice though, and purposely missed our pillows....he is so sweet! Well right before we go to my parents motorhome Halo decideds he has been hiding a trick from us all this time. Let my camera phone show you what I mean:

There you have it Halo is a SMART dog and loves driving our car for us. I twill have to remember this when I get tired driving and just let him take the wheel. He even loves to get the fresh air while he is driving too. So....if you see a flopping eared dog driving down the road, then you will know it is just Halo and perfectly safe! (until he pukes all over you) I hope you enjoy those pictures, (and thank you to Tiffany for using the good old Sony phone for those lovely photos)

We had a great time in the mtns with Momma and Daddy, and their dogs too. We went and saw The Bourne Supremacy in Taos on Friday night, and I really liked it...especially for those of you who enjoyed the Bourne Identity.

I also left my wallet in the bathroom stall that night, and did not realize it until we got back to the motorhome. I then drove with Tiffany to the one spot just before Black Lake to get a signal for her cell phone and called the Theater. I told some girl and she said they she would look for it. She told me that she did not find it, and so I gave her my info to all me if it turns up. Tiffany and I then proceeded to call my credit cards and cancel them all. It turns out that the only company that was still going at that late hour was our bank Debit card. The rest we would just have to call the next Day (Saturday). Tiffany on a hunch from God told me to call the theater one more time to see if it popped up, I did and sure enough they had it!!!!!!! Woo Hoo! That was VERY good news! Well, everything was in there and everything is fine, except I am leaving this Thursday to go to a Church development school in Dayton, OH (really Tipp City, OH) and I have no debit card that works, because once you call it in as stolen then it is gone and you wait for the new one, oh man this sucks, heh. (But who cares, I have my wallet back. (well, whether I want to admit it, there is a little of my Momma in me, heh) Needless to say this has happened one too many times, so I will be looking for a good wallet and separate small pocket PC carrying case. (I refuse to be a techno geek and carry a fanny pack with me, no offense Jay, love you anyway)

Well, I did preach a second sermon this last Sunday and I just finished putting it into an Adobe Format just like the last one so I thought I would allow any of you to be able to read it and tell me what you think. I love to preach so it sure is fun to write the sermons, and man my week even though it is a lot more full it so much better because I get to do a deep study of scripture, and I love that. I can't wait some day to be a Sr. Pastor and get to preach every week, it may be harder, but it sure will be fun, heh!

Here is the sermon in Adobe Format: Divine Dreaming Also as always, if you do not have Adobe Reader, then just click the Adobe ad and Download it. Here is the Ad:

Well, with all that said lets get our.....

Jay Update:

I talked to Jay today, and his sores are so bad I could just barley understand what he was saying (loving your brother for 27 years pays off every now and then, ha ha) He told me through me questioning and he responding, "uuh huh". They his temperature was down from 130 Degrees to 102.5 degrees and that Sheila would be back around 6:30 their time for me to call back and get any more info. We prayer together and I hungup the phone. I called back tonight and Sheila was there. Apparently Jay spilled his spit cup on his favorite blanket and Sheila is so stinking sweet she went all the way back to their house washed his blanket for him and brought it back to him. Jay started shivering because he was cold (sounds like shakes you can get from fevers to me, and then Sheila had to go, so I did not get anymore inform about him. I do know the Dr.'s are testing the chest port for infection to see if that is where the infection was at, and they put a new port in his arm that Sheila seems to think will be better, but the Dr.s are trying to get rid of the infection as best as they can, so please it is very important that we all KUTP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you soooooo much!

Oh well, a few more tidbits I read about today from a few of my daily sites:

I file this under, "If you can't beat Jesus then Join Him" Messiah walking Ha Ha Ha, that was funny when I saw this one.

And of course for those of you who remember such games back in the old School Days. The Homestar Runner guys have upped their game selection by one with Peasant's Quest. Oh yeah, this time instead of being Trogdor, you are a lowly peasant seeking revenge on Trogdor, the first part of getting to Trogdor you have to qualify as a Peasant and one of them is burning, Ha Ha Ha, man I love this site. It is always such a great break from reality every now and then, heh.

Oh, and lots of work has been done on the church's website and as soon as it is close to being ready I can't wait to show you what it is!!! Wow Kathy your just amazing, and I can't wait for St. John's to actually use it and who knows maybe bring people closer to the church and each other!

Well, it is way past my bed time and I know Tiffany is already asleep by now, so I better go to bed.)Thank you tiffany for allowing me to do this one...I love you sooo much!!!!!!!) I love each and every one of you, and I hope your days goes well this week. Please remember that I will be out of the office for a while from Thursday through Tuesday, so I am not sure about my updates during this time, but I will try. Take care all of you and God bless you! Have a wonderful week!

More Jay news from Sheila...

I just got this email from Sheila this morning:

They have move Jay to room 711 - 412-578-1197 but he is not able to talk (he
has pretty bad mucositis). His fever is still up today. They gave him blood
last night and a lot of antibiotics.

Sheila Hollums

I have not got a hold of Jay or Sheila yet. All day yesterday the phone line was busy and then they moved rooms and try then too, and the Phone was busy, so all I know is what my Mom and Dad tell me, and even Tiffany got through at one point in time, man that is frustrating, heh. Oh well, I know that he is doing good, I just worry about how much this is going to set back his chemo? Well, I will try to get yall another "fun" blog post soon. And until then KUTP!

Love yall!

Jay update for prayer please.....

I got this email today from Sheila. Please be praying for Jay.

Jay was released last Monday from chemo but is back in today with a 103 degree fever. They are trying to figure out where the infection is coming from - they think it might be his central line.
He is currently in room 311 because they were out of rooms on the 7th floor but he will most likely be moved there soon. The number in his current room is 412-578-1272.

Thanks,

Sheila

Love you all, thnak you so much ofr your prayers and KUTP!
