Merry Christmas!

I just got back from our midnight service and I must go to bed now for our two services this morning and then fly out to TX (i.e. The Promise Land) only to get there around 10:30 pm and drive to Tiffany's parent's house that evening and arrive at their house around 2:30 or 3:00 a.m. (KY time)! So....needless to say...please keep us both in your prayers! Take care and God bless you all!

The one about my random tag from Cory.....

Well, I was reading my friend Cory's blog and what did I find...Something that told me I was to follow a SPAM like "tag" telling me I had to do what he said or a thousand million camel flees may reside in my arm pits for one million years....Ok, so he just wanted me to play along..and I decided that even though I really can not EVER stand the cheesy emails telling me that I have to send this email to 10 friends or I will have bad luck, loose all my friends, or my skin with turn to liquid, etc... I guess I will play along..and the only reason is that this tag of randomness will tell you all something more about me.....yeah yeah I know the last thing yall want is to know something more about me...I understand...Besides I am not the type of person who holds a lot in and never shares with any of you anything, ha ha ha...so...........here I go.......

5 Things that very few people know about me:

1. I played Dungeons and Dragons for the majority of my young life growing up in my house until my brother went off to college...and then every now and then whenever I saw him again..... Now I know that I have posted us playing D&D @ the house after Jay's funeral...so this might not be too new for some of you...but man I love telling people that yes, I am a pastor and I love playing D&D! Now, some of you would argue that it has messed me up..but I think I turned out not too bad..and besides I have a great appreciation for games that force the player to think!

2. In High School, I beat 2 of my coaches out of $50 playing cards (the game "in-between" to be exact!). When I played with my friends I would just give the money back....but with my coaches I kept it, heh.... they will not be named...and I promise I do not endorse gambling of any kind...now....unless it is with Tiffany and we only play with chips and no money, heh.... Thanks!

3. In Undergrad I threw the Hammer for the track team and during the time I was training and throwing I squatted a max of 815 lbs. The metal bar was bending and everything..I loved it!(and I had already had one knee surgery by that time...but it took youth ministry in KY to tear my other knee, ha ha....) and I also got 5th @ the conference track meet! Needless to say, I am no where near what I used to be able to do...and starting in Jan. I will be hiring a personal trainer (don't get to excited he is a friend of mine and it is a very low amount of money just to make sure we both are held accountable to the weight loss and exercise!) Ok, next.....

4. One time in Spirit Wind (Northwest Texas Conference youth choir) while I was in High School, the guys I was staying with in one of the host houses decided that he was going to bring out his hair clippers and trim his neck hair...Well, it was close to the end of the 2 week tour...and my hair grows VERY fast! So, I asked him to trim my neck hair too.....well, my shirt was off..and if no one knows this yet...I am FREAKING hairy! So right in the middle of the trim...he decides to run the trimmed right down the middle of my back!!!!! Well, I had two choices now...one....kill him and defend myself with the trimmer from all of our friends, or just laugh it off, and hide my upset anger from them...well, I decided that my hair would grow back (sadly) and I allowed him to shave a cross in my back with sun rays coming from the center of the cross. (yes I am that hairy)...He then wanted to put his initials in the bottom right corner of my back...but I called it quits right then...and needless to say....Alcohol nor drugs of any kind were involved...this was pure High School guy thing! (Funny thing is afterwards the next day I was sitting in a church pew and I kept feeling a bug on my back or some kind of insect...and I finally realized that it was no bug....it was me feeling my shirt for the first time...most of the time my hair would keep my shirt off my back, heh)

5. Lastly...and I think this one I really have not put on the blog yet. I HATED MY FIRST FRENCH KISS! I do not even remember her name now...I don't even remember how old I was (probably 5th-6th grade) and I met her in the mountains one summer when we were camping in tents between motorhomes and this girl told me I looked like one of the guys off of 90210 the TV show...and sure why not? Good enough for me! heh....then I told her about some star constellation that would be "ours" forever, heh..heh...(I think she lived in Amarillo at the time)....and.....

She kissed me....now, it just did not go the way I thought it was supposed to go. I kissed her and then she pried open my lips and teeth and shoved her tongue in my mouth. now that was not the bad part...I kind of liked it a little..but then her tongue had an epileptic seizure in my mouth! Man, it was like a wild lizard got loose and it was trying to kill my tongue! And man, I actually took a step back hoping to unleash the Hoover vac power of suction off my mouth....all I could think of was the famous quote from Garth in Waynes World, "Garth Algar: [getting a suck-cut] Aaaahh! Turn it off man, turn it off! It's sucking my will to live! Oh, the humanity"! and the step back did no good...the suction was too powerful and the alien tongue hung on! So, I had no choice but to place my hands on her shoulders and with all of my 6 grade power lifting might pull her off! We walked back to my tent and her to her motorhome holding hands....her with shear happiness written on her face and sheer horror on mine! Later on in life I can honestly say that she made me a better trumpet player and maybe even a better public speaker with the single workout my mouth got that night..but in the end I now don't mind that type of kiss, but only if it is long and slow with VERY little suction!....the kind I think the French had in mind when they introduced it to the world! And that constellation brings me great fear to this day. p.s. (There was no real constellation, I just pointed at three stars that were kind of bright and told her some fake name for them) (funny though...Tiffany did not fall for that one, heh heh... just kidding)

Ok, there is my tag of randomness and always I wrote too long of a blog post..but I guess it is my turn to tag someone else....hmmm.....lets...see......who do I want to know more about?......

Ok, well, I guess since I can only choose one person it would have to be Greg Anderson...my college roommate! So Greg what are 5 things that no one knows about you.....Tag your it!

God bless yall and please take care... oh and as always... KUTPs!

The one about more Christmas, Suicide Santa, and one good Chinese food place....

Ok I forgot to put up a pic of the back deck and I put some rope lights up there..and I think I will just leave them up they would look great during the summer too.....

So Tiffany and I were walking around the Hallmark in the Mall and I saw a horrible sight! The Suicide Santa! How could he do such a selfish thing? Oh man.. I saw this and thought.. I would never want a Christmas plate if it meant for Santa to commit suicide! ha ha ha.....

then I was eating Chinese this week, and Gary the Sr. Pastor told me I should go to the bath room and read the sports page @ the urinal...well, this place skipped the glass incased newspaper and went straight for the LCD TV while you...uh yeah, and of all movies showing it was Willie Wonka! hmmmm.... I will leave that one for you people who have minds like me to take the wrong way, ha ha ha...oh and what did their front sign say?.....

Yep! This owner must be one funny guy! wow! Have a great week everyone...and I promise to put up my random tag sometime before the end of this week....If you want to know what I am talking about just go see Cory's blog and you can see how I have been tagged! Thanks again for caring enough for me to read this blog...you have no idea how much of a blessing you all are...Please never forget... KUTPs!!!!!!

The one about my latest sermon and a few fun websites.....

Well, here is the latest sermon I preached today....It was a fun sermon to preach, because it is a Christmas sermon preached from Revelation! Yeah it is different alright...but honestly would anyone expect any different from me? ha ha ha..... Well here it is:

(remember that you will need Adobe Acrobat to view the sermon and you can find the link to the Adobe reader over there in my links--->)

I would love for yall to discuss anything you want to from the sermon in the comments. I really believe that it is very important that sermons promote life change and I believe that life change will occur more often through discussion...So discuss on! Also, for those of you who heard the sermon today.... in the foot notes are all the scripture references I mentioned in the sermon but did not have time to flip to and share....yall enjoy...I know I have had fun this past week forming it with God!

Next up....ever wonder how much caffeine is really in all those energy drinks? Well here is a website that tells you the truth:

Caffeine Content

-------------------------

Aaaahhh ad now for another really great idea for alarm clocks...Still trying to figure out a way for Tiffany to actually wake up...and yeah me too...but it is still her fault, (before marriage I would wake up every morning bright and early...and now we both hit to snooze at least 2-3 times and set the clock for 30-45 mins before we want to wake up...it is crazy...and I even get out of bed to hit my snooze)

flying alarm clock
but then again this one might work too...it looks like it will break your back to wake you up or at the very least make your shower seem much more comfortable than your bed, ha ha..

back breaker alarm clock

Anyone need a break from life for a few mins...then see how good you can get with your mouse and control..this game should keep a few of you entertained...

The one about who Jesus would hang out with....porn exchanged for Bibles...

I have got to tell you about an article I found reading digg. Apparently a group in UT of Austin @ San Antonio, TX is giving out free pron magazines in exchange for Bibles . Here is the link to the blog that taks about it:

smut for "smut"

notice in the second picture that the sign above the table is asking People to donate to the Salvation Army? Heh..... I just love how God will be present in the midst of a fallen world! But seriously...the first thing I did when I went to the pictures is I zoomed in as much as I could and I looked at the people working the booth. I immediately prayed for them...but then I thought....."How many Christians would get so mad that they would never have their wits about them to go up to them and ask if they could buy them lunch or go to their house for lunch?
---------------
Matthew 5:43 "You have heard the law that says, 'Love your neighbor' and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.
---
(Oh and just in case if you have forgotten make sure you do not create more of your "enemies" by not following the next few verses):
---
6:1 "Watch out! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. 2 When you give to someone in need, don't do as the hypocrites do-- blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. 3 But when you give to someone in need, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4 Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. 5 "When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get."
---------

funny how when we are Christ followers that our enemies are not our own by God's. And yet God in some crazy grace filled way....loves and cares for and even dies for our enemies....and asks us to do the same.

Don't be mad at these people...or even crying sad..... just get up and go talk to them and give them the gift of grace, love, forgivness, food, drink, laughter, listening, listening, ad a little more listening!

Here she is the 31 year old hot sexy wife of mine...with all of her gifts...she got a really cute yard sign with little reps of us, our house, and our pets, heh (far left of the pic)....and a little clay Halo dog (sitting on the arm of the HT seat), she is holding a painted pottery pot from a good friend in Dallas area....you can see the Hallmark snowman playing the piano on the right side....and all kinds of other cool small stuff...and of course she just had to go eat Chick-Fil-A for dinner and the staff @ Florence UMC took us both out to eat @ Cracker Barrel for lunch! ....it was a great time...but I have a feeling it will be spreading out over the next couple of days with going to movies and eating nice dinners with friends, co-workers, and of course me...I have to get some good food in there somewhere, heh.... anyone ever been to The Brick Testament? Some of it is very bad(be sure to look for the ratings of each Bible Story)...but most of it is really good...funny how the sense of humor of people crosses the line...Especially when it is so amazingly well done for the most part! (and that last sentence would sum me up in most people's minds, heh)

OK, well love yall and please never forget KUTPs!!!!

(Oh and also let me know if you like the smaller blog posts or if you liked the one time larger ones? (or if you could care less, heh) Thanks!)

The one about Thanksgiving '05

Well here is the awesome deep fried Turkey in the middle of a snow storm in PA Thanksgiving...Sheila's dad and Steve and I froze our tails off...but it was well worth it! Man I love deep fried turkey....Steve always says everything will be good if it is deep fried and on a stick! heh heh......

Here is Sheila eating at the Italian place that my parents bought for us (because they could not make it up there) Sheila is trying not to look at the camera as she messes with her's heh.....

And here is a great picture of Steve...Sheila's new man! It was great getting to meet you Steve and you already know this..but Tiffany ad I will kill you if you DON'T give Sheila a hard time....heh heh heh...yeah that is right...we got your back!...... (oh and by the way...you really need to have that Exit sign coming out of the back of your head looked at! heh)

And here is all of us finishing up at the dinner table! Thanks Mom and Dad for the great meal...we really enjoyed it! And that concludes Thanksgiving '05!! Good times! and never forget KUTPs!!!!!

The one about the side trip to Cabela's Sporting Goods store in WV!

Well, thanksgiving came and went and it was a ton of fun! Tiffany and I went to go visit Sheila and Steve up in Greensburg, PA and got to see her whole family and meet Steve...but before I get to that I wanted to show yall the Cabela's Outdoor Sporting store! Now, I have been into several Bass Pro Shops...but I am sorry Bass Pro...this store kicks your $%^^! heh.... so here is the outside of the store...(it was snowing at the time so I am sure the picture is not as good...but there is a HUGE statue of some bears and eagles and fish in the front ...and you can see they put up two tents to show them off...and then there is the 4 car wide drop off/pick-up covered drive way! wow...this place is amazing on the out side and you have not even seen the inside yet!.....

OK this is what you see when you walk through the doors! IT IS CRAZY! yes in this picture it just looks like a really nice warehouse...but if you can make it out there is a full size airplane hanging above the mountain in the very back!!!!....

Here is just one of the 4-5 exhibits that show off the stuffed animals shot and caught from all over the world and given or bought to show them off....it is every museums dream...and these happen to be in a sporting goods store....look at that mural behind the elephant! it was amazing!!!!.....

You can see in this picture at the base of the mountain/waterfall!!!! They have all kinds of animals all over the place! I loved this guy....

And here is a fun one! And you can just barely make it out...but there at the top of the mountain/waterfall is a mountain goat....(can you see the waterfall beside the bear and beneath the goat?) if you walked up to the second story you could look into the goats eyes, heh.... I mean...this is the last of the pics I took...but man oh man....this is awesome! They had a huge aquarium, and a dear exhibit that I bet had at least 300 dear in there! It was amazing...and of course you can imagine all the sporting goods it had...but sadly the fly shop was tiny! Come on...I realize fly fishing is not king around here...but if your going to make a store that huge...give it a good fly shop! Oh well, lots of fun.......oh and I am trying to make my posts smaller so I will be putting al the pictures in the posts up in smaller posts...maybe some of you will feel better about reading them! heh heh.... KUTPs!

The one about Happy Birthday to ME!!!!!!

Friday Morning John, Tiffany, and I meet up to do some Bible study and accountability, and every Friday morning there is the best Barista (lady who makes coffee) in the world @ Joseph-Beth Booksellers!!! And, so after about a few months of seeing her every Friday morning I finally got her picture...so Amy if you see this we can not tell you how much we love you and your coffee skills...John and Tiffany get Vanilla lattes, and I always get a Cafe Mocha (with whip of course)! Oh man, that is some amazing coffee...oh dang....now I am craving it and will not get any until two weeks from now! Oh well, Thanks again Amy! You rock!......

After coffee, BS (ha ha I was trying to shorten Bible Study, heh heh), and Accountability, we then had to run to the Harry Potter: The Goblet of Fire movie on IMAX! It was a great movie and Tiffany loved it...then Saturday Chris and Lauren came down to watch Harry Potter on IMAX, and so we went with them to watch Harry Potter a second time on IMAX and then we met up with John and Sylvia and we all went to go get some great Sushi! Here is me with two boats in front of me!!!! I am pulling the chain making the boat horn noise!(Download that noise and then click on the picture to get the full effect!, heh!) I have always wanted to order two boats and Saturday night we celebrated my birthday with the two....Oh man, I thought I almost saw a really bright light at the end of a tunnel while I was eating....but then I realized it was just the sheer glee that was forming in my head! Look at all that sushi! Oh man....and I ate it all...Well, there were a few things on one of the boats that Tiffany ate...but mostly me baby! oh yeah! heh heh......

Here am I with Tiffany in blissful happiness...with two boats of Sushi and my wife by my side to hold me up so I can finish the boats, heh....

here is sweat Chris and Lauren to my left! Thanks yall for coming up for my Birthday....I know it was expensive for yall, but Tiffany and I can not thank yall enough!....

And of course the blog regulars....John and Sylvia...and as usual...they are hams and chose not to smile...but of course it was Tiffany taking the picture so they had to give her a hard time, heh.....

I was not totally done yet...but I wanted to show of my fat hairy white guy chop stick technique! Not many people have mastered it (including me, heh) but sure makes for a stinking great picture, heh....oh and yes that is the first boat sunk by the Hollums' mouth, and what of the second one?.....

yes.... I decided to take the other one out as well....and as you can see the boats were nothing for my strength of mouth and stomach, heh.....

But alas, the war had casualties on both sides, heh..... Tiffany told me to get in a funny pose...so I did, heh......

If you have seen Starsky & Hutch the latest movie you might recognize "The Dragon"("Big Earl: Alright guys, I'm not gonna lie to you. This is gonna get kinda weird... Two dragons.")! Rarely seen, but with that much Sushi in me, I had to show it off to those around me who sat in utter amazement...and laughter, heh.....

and Tiffany decided to make a snow man out of Wasabi, with two eyes, and ginger cape! Kind of impressive...all together now (to the tune of Frosty The Snow Man)......"Frosty Wasabi, was a little green blobbed man, with a ginger coat, and a mouth of old, and two eyes made up of holes".....heh heh..... yeah a humor only those who know Tiffany can appreciate! Thank you girl for loving me and making my Birthday so wonderful...Horrible lyrics and all!.....

And lastly, since today (Sunday the 20th) is my actually Birthday, I wanted to show off the children's kings Kids Choir that put on the "sermon" this morning! It was GREAT! they did so well, and I am not sure if you can see it, but in this picture they are all playing kazoos, heh heh...... Well, I am very tired and I must get some sleep...Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday today, Tiffany, Gary, Sherrie and hubby, Val, Lisa, The youth Group, Mark, Daddy and Momma, Aunt Harryette, Nanaw and Tom, Greg!!!, everyone else who I do not purposefully forget...but just allow my mind to wonder aimlessly into depths of forgetfulness, heh.. Love yall and and I can not express to everyone how much it means to me that you actually read this stuff on this blog, heh..... Have a wonderful day and God bless yall! KUTPs!!!!

The one about the UMC Y.A. Summit in Nashville, visiting friends and Halo who thinks he is king......

HOWDEY! Yep we went to the first ever Young Adult Summit in Nashville over the weekend and here is me pointing to a picture of Minnie Pearl and one of the actual dresses she wore on the Grand Ole Opry! No I am not a country loving type of guy...but even I remember how great Minnie Pearl was and her famous words! Kind of cool if you ask me, heh....

We stayed at the Opry Land Hotel. (here are some 360 views of the hotel too)..and I can not even express to yall how amazing this hotel is...I have been in it several times before, but they just keep adding to it each year...and we were even blessed to start to see some of the Christmas decorations they put up every year...now that is stinking amazing!

Here is Tiffany in the Gibson Guitar Shop in The Opry Mills Mall! That is one huge dobro guitar up there, heh....this was an amazing shop...an d I know that any guitar lover wishes they could have been there, heh.....there was even a huge stage and bar in the back of the place...amazing......Jamie was in heaven, heh....

Here is (left to right) David, Tiffany, and Jamie who went with us to the summit. We had a lot of un and tons of amazing discussions...mostly David and Jamie discussing...and Tiffany and I laughing while they "talked" heh heh.... but I had a lot of fun joining in on the talking they had every now and then and for the most part I agreed with Jamie, heh... just kidding David...I agreed with you some of the time too, heh.... This is Sharky and he sits on the bench of the new Seafood restaurant in the Opry Mills Mall, but we did not eat here...we decided to go eat at the Rain Forest Cafe! Most of the time to eat at the Rain Forest Cafe it is a huge wait...but since this seafood place opened up the wait was non-existent for the Rain Forest Cafe, heh...good times.....

Here is one of the young adults knocking David to the ground and Jamie is helping him out...I am not in the picture...because I am trying to talk to some people...and right in the middle of the convo I was having Tiffany runs over to me and begs for me to hand her the camera so that she can take this picture...she thought is was so funny...and therefore how it got on the blog....and yes girls Jamie and that other guy are single, heh......(but sadly (I know I know) David is happily married!) heh....

the on our way back to Cold Spring, we had just enough time to go eat with Evan...and out of no where Chris and Lauren showed up! Tiffany of course loved seeing everyone and it was a lot of fun to eat with them all....and you can see how much Tiffany loved it, heh......

Here is the sexy Tiffany shot...woo woo girl...sorry boys she is al mine! heh heh....but you sure can tell that we love these guys like they were our own!.....

And lastly we had some great friends of ours here in Northern KY keep Halo for us while we were gone...and as you can see they have a dog too...a much larger dog...and yes...that is Halo playing with a dog that could rip his skin apart...and Halo is playing just like he was the one in control, heh...silly dog...heh....and tons of thanks go out to Courtney and Kelly for loving on Halo and taking care of him while we were out....oh and Brittany (the dog too) heh....

=============================

Anyone (at least when I went there) going to Seminary had to take a Myers-Briggs Personality test and I found a take off of the real one (the real one is much longer and costs a lot of money, heh) but here is one on the internet and I thought that yall might like to find out what your personality is! Well, that is it for this week..I guess unless something just really pops up and I just have to post it......It has been a long time since I have told yall this...but please know my gratitude ad love for reading and even caring about me! This really does kind of fill a small hole in my heart for desiring to be in touch with everyone in my life at the same time...I wish I could take you all to Disney World and just run around for about 2 weeks, heh.... I want you all to know that I appreciate and love you all....and I want you to know that I pray every day for anyone who reads this blog....how blogs can give you that promise that you are being prayed for by just reading a blog? heh....yep....I love ya and so does God in this very moment! The one about Fall, and a 3-D Chicken....

Fall is here and I was overcome with the peace that my backyard brought to me the other day and I took a picture of it...I know that my Mom would freak out over all the trees changing color...and I know there is no way to capture the change...so enjoy the fallen leaves and take a deep breath and know that you are loved and thought of this day! (by me, heh...and God).....

OK, I don't think that I can express to yall how amazing the 3-D was in Chicken Little 3-D!!!! It was just as good as all the 3-D shows in the thee parks everywhere....except instead of being a 5 min. ride...it was a full movie! The movie is very funny and a great cute show...but if you live near one of the 100 or so theaters that have the 3-D showing of the movie then I can not encourage you more to go treat yourself to this amazing new way to view movies....(and it is not the red, blue glasses of yesteryear...these glasses look just like the glasses the Chicken Little wears in the movie and the 3-D is spectacular! GO SEE IT...if there is a theater near you! ......and while I was in there buying tickets for Chicken Little I went ahead and bought Tiffany IMAX tickets for Harry Potter on Friday the 18th (for her birthday on the 30th!) I bet that will be great too, heh.... Well, yall have a great and blessed week and please never stop KUTPs!!!!!!!

Oh and a HUGE Th3waters.com update!
