This is the Blog of DG. You must have come here because you actually care about me or you were invited by this weird Cultural Architect named D.G., heh. Well, thanks for coming and I hope that you are blessed by the "unique" rantings of a common married young United Methodist Cultural Architect (otherwise know as Pastor)! Welcome and join the "sanity" that is me loving to live...and living to love!
Sorry for the long time since a post...but let me share a little of what has been going on since I last posted.... Here is Halo's favorite way to sit in the front chair....heh..... The 4th of July was great! We had the 1st OG over for food and to set off a few fire works....here are the pyros that night...and I will try to post another post telling you of my illegal purchase!!! (insert dramatic music here)..... Here is the first car that Tiffany and I bought after we were married loaded up on a truck and being forever hauled away....we will miss it!...... Our good friends Philip and Holly (and their little one) visited us on the way back from a wedding! Tiffany was very happy and even though they did not get to stay as long as we would have liked...it was wonderful to get to see them!...... And of course my parents are here and every time they come over to the house they usually bring their dogs...and Teddy (the one in this picture with Halo) LOVES to play with Halo...I took this picture and man Halo looks CRAZY! heh....but in reality he is very sweet to Teddy......anyway.... I is well, and We got our used (new to us) car....and I will be having them install a CD player in it this Wednesday! I also got an iPod yesterday..and I am playing around with that too....So....please pay that I start to work our regularly...because I need to loose weight..and the Dr. thinks so too...heh heh... (hence the purchase of the iPod to work out with...since my previous workout partner got a job that will not allow him to workout in the mornings...anyway....yall have a wonderful week take care and God bless you!
Yep these are the words I read while driving to the Friday night OG! Here is a picture of it:
Yeah...Tiffany and I read it...and of course she was with me...so we laughed at it...and laughed hard...and of course I Googled it and read that it is a new show that will be on the Cartoon Network...not sure what it is about...but man I love the advertising campaign!

Well, they have officially called my car totaled....and I have been waiting for the check to come in and searching for the best cars I can find for a price that Tiffany and I can afford. It is killing me, because I feel like anytime I am out there looking for cars that everyone is out to rip me off. But alas...I still love them, and so I use my brian and deal with them...And hope that in some small way I can be Jesus like in their lives...even when I am buying a car. So we have narrowed it down to three cars, the Honda CR-V (the one I used to have...this one will be hard to find in our price range, because they hold their value so well.) The Ford Escape (the gas mileage is better than most SUVs and as long as I don't take turns too fast then it should keep all its wheels on the ground), and lastly the Nissan Xterra (by far the coolest looking of all three, but also the worst gas mileage of the rest as well.)...... so needless to say.... PLEASE pray for us and the sales guys we will be working for...If I can make a sale and start a friendship...then the whole process will be worth it...who knows...maybe there is a sales person who needs authentic community and there is an OG just waiting for them! Thanks for yall's prayers!

Well, I have been trying to be better about my quiet time with God...and it just seems like I have been doing what I normally do..and that is have an on going convo with Him through out the day! This is great and the way I have done it most of my life...but lately I have been wanting to spend really good (cell turned off, and sitting in a garden) quite time with him... Hopefully my friend Bryan and I can find a day around here somewhere that we can just spend then entire day in prayer and worship...can't wait...
===========
I am also preaching twice (2 weeks in a row) in August. I am excited about it...but need to start the process of thinking about them. I have to tell yall...when I spoke to the youth one Way camp 2 weeks ago....I was freaked out. When I preached there...it was like I was playing football again. I never preach like that...and it kind of scared me... the last talk I was jumping up and down (what that heaven is that?!) and then I noticed that the adults were freaking out about the storm that was about to hit that night...and so instead of doing an alter call...I just walked off the stage! I went outside where the wind was acting like it was experiencing a roller coaster for the first time...and I just prayed.... It was weird! I remember the first time that I really preached. It was @ a Chrysalis and afterwards I fell to my knees and cried....it was almost as if God borrowed my life for a second and filled me up...and then let me come back! I will never forget that day, and I must say this is almost like a second major event in my life. I have been thinking about it ever since...and it is just so different than me that it is really causing me to think hard. There is a part of me that I did not realize was in there...at least during worship, heh... so please be in prayer for me to discern what God is telling me! Thanks!

Yall have a wonderful day! God bless and take care!
This is what happened to me today after i went to visit my visiting parents and driving to work... The lady hit me so hard from behind that the console that has my radio, ad air conditioning in it is haning out into the inside of my car...and the ash tray and cup hold were opened...and change from the ash tray was all over the floor and back seat.... Oh yeah an dI keep several business cards in the space under the radio and they were al over the back seat along with my mints..... The white van int eh background is what hit me...and you can see that she got the worst end of the deal...and then the red truck behind her slamed into her back....you can't see it here...but her sare tire that is normally under her car was under the red GMC truck.... And here is the construction cone that she forced me to run over in my car as I flew aboiut 50 ft. in front of her across three lanes of trafic and ended up all the way across the interstate...needless to say i think that she did not stop at all (that is until she hit me).... luckly, no one was hurt, and the claims people are getting back to me if my car wil be considered totalled or fixable.... it is crazy...but I am glad no one was hurt...now tiffany adn I must see if we can just go live out of one car or two junk cars until we can save up enough money to actually purchase another one...if it is totalled! f not then i get a rental car the entire time it is fixed! heh... either way we would apprecite your prayers and thoughts for al those that were involved in the accident. Thank you and God bless yall! KUTPs!!!!
Well, this is what Tiffany and I feel like!!! We came back from an awesome Youth Camp...to fly into KY, drive to our car...drive to our house...ready to fall into bed and get a few hours (4) of sleep to wake up and go to church the next morning...and we get to the house...only to open up the front door and walk into a 93 degree house!!! Our air conditionaer died...aaarrrrgggg!
Well, if you know anything about me...I hate to sweat! Sure when I am working out that is fine...but sitting drinking a gall of water and sweating is not my cup of tea!
Well, the air conditioner people came to look at the problem..and they told us that it was not repairable! So...that means we wait for the church people to find a good air conditioner company and then we wait around for them to get some time to put a new one in! This is very frustrating! All the while we sleep in a VERY hot home!.....not to mention that we are worried about or pets.
I am sure the church people are going as fast as they can to get us an air conditioner...but I also know that sometimes to "get the best deal" time is required and they told us that it could be 2-3 days for them to install it much less find one to buy to put in!
Well my parents have come into town for around a month...so if we need to we can stay with them in the motor home...but that will get very tiring very quick...not because we will be with my parents...but living in such a small living space...when you know that your home is 15 mins away!!!!
My father reminded me that we do have a window unit, and we just installed it in the home theater room...so I guess we can set up a air mattress on the floor in the HT room and then take our showers in the bed room...it is crazy...but it is the best we can do with what we have.
oh well, we can survive through this and we will...and as soon as the air in our house is fixed then I will start to work out again...and get back to my mile mark and eventually run a 5K race....(i.e. my hamstring is back to normal....well, a little less strong..but that will come back with running and lifting)
Well, that is all for now....I really must tell you all to go see
Nacho Libre!!! The movie is clean and very funny! And by far the best baptism scene I have ever seen...this movie will be a buy when it comes to DVD..and I might actually go watch it again in the theater..and that is rare for me!
Oh and this Wednesday...I will be going to Springdale Cinemas to go watch the new
Superman Returns movie in IMAX 3-D....I can't wait!!!... And I will introduce my parents to Jungle Jims! I know they will love it...and the only problem is that we will not be able to buy anything cold because we will be going to the movie afterwards! oh well, there is always another day!
Yall have a wonderful and blessed week and I will try to get some more pictures up and going! oh and I will try to remember to show yall my google album page as well!

Ladies and Gentlemen....lets get ready to rumble!!!!!

Ok, well, Tiffany and I have a very busy few days and it has just begun! Thursday morning we got a call from our Bishop in New Mexico...and he said,
Bishop: "Where are you?"
Me: "Well, I am here in my house, are you at Annual Conference?" (What I was thinking, "Well, I am standing here in my underwear about to need to go to the bathroom...but you are on the phone"
Bishop: "Well, I called your and Tiffany's name @ the clergy session and you never came up so that we could ask you the historical questions for you to be ordained."
Me: "It was our understanding from all of the correspondence between everyone there in the NM Conference that we could do everything @ the Northwest Texas Conference."
Bishop: "Well, we have to get yall down here before the end of conference so we can vote yall in and ten the ordination service can be in Northwest Texas Conference next week."
My thoughts again: "Holy Cow we have no money to fly up there right now...Especially since Tiffany has a Confirmation retreat TODAY...and I have a hugely important meeting @ Florence about Th3 Waters that I have to be at this Sunday!"
Me: (Silence)
Bishop: "I tell you what...I will ask Val (his wife) to get yall flights down to Albq. and we will use our Rapid Reward Miles so that it is no cost to yall and we will try to take care of it as soon as possible."
Me: " Bishop, I am so sorry about all of this, and thank you so much, are you sure you want to do that?"
Bishop: "you look up the flight times and call Val and we will see if we can get yall up here for what needs to happen."
Me: "Thank you so much Bishop, Thank you!"
(phone hangs up.....I run to the bathroom, and yell in pure anxiety to Tiffany, "Tiffany.....we got to pack right now, because we are getting on a plane soon!"
Needless to say we got there and were officially approved by the clergy of NM to be ordained in full connection!!! Woo hoo! A step we were not expecting...but one that turned out to be a wonderful (even though tiring) trip! We got to see youth, and families from Santa Fe, and Whiterock, and tons of clergy friends that we love and adore!...and Also needless to say I hugged Val and the Bishop so many times they probably did not know what to do with us! Even through we got a total of about 7 hours of sleep over the course of three days it was good...but here is the kicker...we leave today to fly out to TX for the Northwest Texas Conference to be ordained on Friday and we will get back on Saturday only to flight back to TX two weeks after we return to lead a Jr. High Camp for a week! June is shaping up to be a CRAZY month...but I say al of this to ask for your prayers and thoughts....
love yall and thank you for being you in our lives! Take care and know you are being prayed for just by reading this blog...now that is something that I can offer that not a single other blog can give you for just reading it! God Bless yall!
Oh, and John (another friend of ours) will be house sitting and Halo has to take 4 pills a week right now for a UTI and some upset stomach stuff...so please keep them both in your prayers, heh!
For all you Jack Black fans out there here is the reason I loved him early on.
This is the cleanest song that Tenacious D put out (that I can remember)...but it still contains 2 words (F-bomb) that are cussing...so please be advised!...I coud not find a clean version of the song :(
And for a link to the website for the new movie (Nacho Libre!) that comes out June 16th go here:
